Raven Cutom Cues

Identifying RAVEN Cues for Collectors

RAVEN Cues will be externally initialed by hand only at a clients request.

At present each RAVEN cue is engraved with the logo (using the bird outline as the V in RAVEN), date it was made and an individual serial number for authenticity. In about the middle of 2005 I stopped engraving the initials of the cuemaker. I am the only cuemaker so there really isn't any point to putting my initials on the cues. If another cuemaker is ever involved in building a RAVEN cue initials will be reinstated as part of the pertinent information. This information wraps around the butt of the cue. Cues are photographed and cataloged for future reference. Cue collectors or those interested in past cues may request this information. See example below.

Prior to June 2003 each RAVEN cue was engraved with the logo (letters only), date it was made, an individual serial number for authenticity and the initials of the cue maker or cuemakers. This information wraps around the butt of the cue. Cues are photographed and cataloged for future reference. Cue collectors or those interested in past cues may request this information. See example below.

Prior to January 2003 cues were made with a different block style engraved logo, date it was made, the individual serial number and the initials of the cue maker or cuemakers. This information did not wrap around the butt of the cue. Cues were photographed and cataloged for future reference. Nine of these cues survive. One has the initials MW - AK. The other eight all have the initials MW - JM. See example below.

A few cues were made with a decal transfer logo. It carried only the logo and a serial number. To the best of my knowledge only one cue survives. See photo below.

Two jump cues were made with no external markings. I hand wrote RJ 1 on the tenon underneath the rubber bumper of one of them. The other was mine. I traded it. See photo below.

A repaired or refinished cue may be engraved with the newest logo (at customer request) but the original date of completion and original serial number will not be changed.
